Artifacts Activity  The Important Book

Gather artifacts from a country or region. (Use what you have. The students will enjoy it no matter what materials you use.) Read aloud The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown so that students hear the pattern of the book. Have each student choose an artifact if you have enough. If not, they can work in pairs or small groups. Download the template, or load it on the computer, and have students write their own descriptive document which they can share with the class. For extension, students can look up the artifact and gather information about it or about the country.
